Sad but not discouraged...

The results of the NPCG Progress & Possibilities '07 show are in, and... I'm not in it. *sigh* I actually thought I had a chance... but nope. Not this time. Maybe next time.... maybe. I am interested in seeing what my rating was by the judges.

I had held back on posting a photo of my teapot submission until I heard the P&P '07 results... so, here ya' go!

This teapot is an unglazed bisque pot with a lamination of polymer clay colored with alcohol inks. The handle and knob are gold acrylic. I actually named the pot "Having Tea with Mom." I usually don't indulge in naming things like this, but my mom's spirit was lingering very close while I made it... those blues are her blues... and mine.

I really enjoy doing patchwork with surface treated clay. Perhaps it's satisfying my quilting urges. If I don't have the time and energy to quilt these days, at least I can pretend with clay.

Question: Does anyone know a good way to seal the inside of bisque ware so it can hold liquids like tea... or at the very least water? And no, buying a kiln and glazing it myself isn't in the budget.

Note: The next book post will be coming (probably) next post.

Kim! Thank you sooooo much! Coming from a woman who's work I adore (even the silly raunchy bits you do - I still feel sorry for the folks who got your masks ;P ) you've really made my day!
